How to register a marriage or birth

We don't register marriages at the British High Commission, Uganda

Registering Marriage

British High Commission Kampala, does not register marriages in Uganda.

Registering Birth

If your child is born in Uganda you can register the birth at the British High Commission. You don’t have to do this, but if you do your child will be given a British style birth certificate and the birth will be registered at the General Registry Office in the UK.

We recommend consular birth registration because it means you’ll be able to get extra copies of the certificate from the General Registry Office in the future
